Class B covers heavy straight vehicles, or Group B, as defined in 49 CFR 383.91(a)(2). B1.1 omits Coupling and Uncoupling because this path is not a combination-vehicle curriculum.

An upgrade applicant must also complete the Class A BTW range and public road requirements. Those requirements are in person with a partner school.

Completing Class A ELDT also satisfies the ELDT requirement for taking the Class B skills test.
